Program description
After Hours Virtual Receptionist sends conversational and service-related text messages on behalf of the businesses that use our answering service. Messages include follow-ups when your call could not be completed, appointment confirmations and reminders, and review requests after a completed job.
Opt-in: how you agree to texts
You only receive texts after you agree to them, one of three ways. We do not send messages to purchased lists, and consent is never sold or shared with third parties for their marketing.
- On the phone. When you call a participating business and Amelia, its AI receptionist, books your appointment, she confirms your number and says: “I’ll text a confirmation and reminders about this appointment to that number. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP any time. Okay?” Texts are sent only if you say yes. Your answer is recorded with the booking, with the date and time of the call.
- On the booking form. The online booking form has an unchecked box: “Text me a confirmation and reminders about this appointment. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.” Texts are sent only if you tick it.
- Offers, by keyword. After a booking, you may get one text asking whether you want occasional offers from that business: “Reply YES and you’re in. Reply STOP any time to leave.” Promotional texts go only to people who reply YES, and the reply is confirmed with: “[Business] via Amelia: You’re in for occasional offers by text, a few a year. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”
Two exceptions, both started by you: when you text a business’s number, Amelia replies to that text; and when your call to a business drops before Amelia could finish helping, she sends one text, to the number you called from, with a link to finish your request. STOP ends both.
Opt-out
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from that number. You will receive one final confirmation message. You can also ask the business directly, or email info@afterhoursvirtualreceptionist.com.
Help
Reply HELP to any message, call (832) 979-5957, or email info@afterhoursvirtualreceptionist.com.
Frequency and fees
Message frequency varies based on your interaction with the business (typically 1 to 4 messages per service request). Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
